"Polar Plunge to End Polio Now"

Ipswich Rotary Fundraiser, Saturday, February 11, 2011

To pledge, contact Ipswich Rotarian and event organizer Bob Gravino

at 978-356-0825 or email Bob at rcgravino@aol.com

Rotary District 7930 will hold its second annual "Polar Plunge to End Polio Now" on Saturday, February 11, at Long Beach in Gloucester.  The event will start at 11:30 am in front of the Cape Ann Motor Inn.  The event will be held rain or shine, but will be postponed to February 25 in the event of a serious snowstorm.

Once again this year, Ipswich Rotary will be well represented with 4 Rotarians and 20 Ipswich High School Interactors taking the chilly dip. Ipswich Rotary plungers are returnees Dave Clark, Keith Harris, and JT Turner, who will be joined by first time plunger Rev. Rebecca Pugh.  All the money raised will be donated to Rotary's "End Polio Now" campaign.  You can support these brave souls with a pledge in any amount.

For over 25 years, Rotary and our international partners have worked to eradicate Polio in the world.  Today, we are on the brink of doing that, but a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all.  As long as Polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk.  Please support our Ipswich Rotarians and Rotary Interact students in this important regional fundraiser.  Together we can put an end to Polio.
