Polar Plunge 2012 - To End Polio Now |

On February 11, 2012, 30 members of the Ipswich Rotary and Ipswich High School Interact Clubs joined other clubs in Rotary District 7930 and plunged into the icy waters off of Long Beach in Gloucester to raise money to "End Polio Now", Rotary International's campaign to eradicate this dreaded killing and disabling disease from the world. Interact Club travels to Rotary Day at the UN |

52 members of the Ipswich Interact club, along with 35 members from the Gloucester and Rockport clubs, traveled to New York City to participate in "Rotary Day at the UN". They were accompanied by 17 Rotary, faculty and parent chaperones, 10 from Ipswich. Following morning procedings and lunch, the students visited the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan. Dinner was at another New York landmark, Grand Central Terminal. It was a moving, exhilarating and inspiring day for all. |

$500 donated to Birth to Three Family Center |

Birth to Three assists Ipswich and area families to “increase (their) children’s potential for healthy development and well-being” through parent-child activities and play groups. Their free parental support also helps improve parenting skills and provide additional opportunities to socialize with other new parents. Ipswich Rotary and Bto3 teamed up at this year's Ipswich Chowderfest to raise money to support their valuable work. The money raised was presented at the Bto3 Center on October 13.

Interact Club Inducts 67 for 2011-12 |

On October 7, 2011-12 Interact Club President Gina Riel inducted 67 members, over 10% of the High School’s student population. On hand were Principal Barry Cahill and nine members of the Ipswich Rotary Club. The event was organized by the club officers and Ipswich Rotary Interact Coordinator Keith Harris, assisted by Faculty Advisor Chuck Holman and Ipswich Rotary Club New Generations Chair, the Rev. Brad Clark. Interact is a student-led community service club, aligned with Rotary International. |

At their meeting at Ithaki on August 4, 2011, Ipswich Rotary presented a scholarship to Sarah Faulkner, Rowley resident and recent graduate of Triton Regional High School. Ipswich Rotary annually presents scholarships to outstanding High School seniors from Ipswich and Rowley. |

Ipswich Rotary and Friends Forever |

Ipswich Rotary Club recently teamed up once again with Foote Brother’s Canoes to host two groups of students from the war torn Middle East. The visit to Ipswich was part of a unique trust-building process, developed by “FriendsForever”, an organization founded by Rotarian Bob Raiche in 1986 to help erode the fear and mistrust dividing cultures in conflict and create enduring cross-community friendships. |

At the Ipswich School Committee Meeting on June 6, 2011,. President Joan Arsenault presented a check for $16,000 to the Ipswich Schools which represented monies collected during the year through grants and fundraisers. Most of this money will be used to update technology in the schools. |
